A Florida realtor and her two young daughters were found dead along with the girls’ father in what authorities are investigating as a murder-suicide.
Four Family Members Found Dead
The victims were identified as 46-year-old Melanie Hyer, 42-year-old Ryan Whiten, 11-year-old Savannah Whiten, and 8-year-old Sienna Whiten. The family was found dead inside Hyer’s home in a gated community in Doral, Florida, on Tuesday night.
Investigation Underway
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, all four victims suffered stab wounds. Deputies responded to the home after receiving a request for a welfare check from a concerned friend.
Authorities are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide but have not yet revealed who was responsible.
Custody Disputes Reported
Hyer and Whiten, who shared custody of their two daughters, were no longer in a relationship. According to reports, their co-parenting relationship had been strained by custody disputes.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing as officials await results from the medical examiner.
