A Pennsylvania murder trial is underway for a man accused of carrying out a deadly crime spree that left multiple people dead across Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Trial Begins in Philadelphia
Keith Gibson, 44, is on trial in Philadelphia for the murders of Roy Caban, Eric Flores, Christine Lugo, and his mother, Christine Gibson. Prosecutors say the killings took place over several months in 2021.
Alleged Multi-State Crime Spree
Authorities allege Gibson shot and killed Caban and Flores inside a Philadelphia store on Jan. 28, 2021. Less than two weeks later, prosecutors say he fatally shot his mother while she was working at a community center.
In Delaware, Gibson was convicted of killing 28-year-old Leslie Ruiz-Basilio during a robbery in May 2021 and later killing 42-year-old Ronald Wright during another robbery.
Dunkin’ Manager Among Victims
Prosecutors say Gibson returned to Philadelphia in June 2021 and attempted to rob a Dunkin’ restaurant. During the robbery, he allegedly forced manager Christine Lugo to hand over cash before shooting and killing her.
Previously Released From Prison
According to authorities, Gibson had been released from prison in 2020 after serving time for manslaughter and a gun conviction. He was arrested days after the Dunkin’ killing following a robbery in Delaware.
The Philadelphia trial is ongoing, with victims’ families attending court proceedings as they seek justice for their loved ones.
