A Washington state man has been arrested after authorities discovered the body of his 4-year-old son buried in a backyard.
Father Arrested in Child’s Death
Police arrested 36-year-old Jacob Scott Bevins in connection with the death of his son, 4-year-old Aiden Bevins.
The child’s body was found buried on a property in Aberdeen, Washington, on May 15.
Investigation Began With Welfare Concerns
Authorities began investigating after receiving concerns about the whereabouts of Bevins’ children.
When questioned by police, investigators said Bevins claimed Aiden was staying with relatives in another state. Police later determined the child was not with those relatives.
Body Found on Property
Detectives returned to the property and conducted further interviews, which led to the discovery of Aiden’s body buried in the backyard.
Officials have not yet released the child’s cause or manner of death.
Multiple Allegations
Bevins was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, unlawful disposal of human remains, and providing false information to authorities.
He is being held without bail in the Grays Harbor County Jail while the investigation continues.
