Following a vehicle crash in South Carolina, one person died and three were injured

A Duncan man was killed and three others were injured in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Greenville County.

Driver Killed in Greer Crash

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 28-year-old Michael Jaylen Coleman of Duncan.

The crash occurred around 9:25 p.m. near the intersection of East Main Street and Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greer.

Vehicle Overturned After Leaving Roadway

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Coleman was driving a 2013 Chrysler 300 when the vehicle struck a curb while turning left from Valley Road onto East Main Street.

Troopers said the car then traveled off the roadway, hit a ditch, collided with a tree and overturned.

Three Passengers Injured

Emergency responders pronounced Coleman dead at the scene.

Three passengers in the vehicle were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

Investigation Ongoing

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office ruled Coleman’s death an accident caused by blunt force injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
