A Pennsylvania woman has been charged with murder after investigators alleged she shot her boyfriend and client, then enlisted family members to help dispose of his body in a suitcase.
Body Found in Suitcase
According to prosecutors, 53-year-old Vincent Good’s remains were discovered inside a suitcase that had been dumped on a Philadelphia street in May.
Authorities later identified 53-year-old Liza Ridley, Good’s caregiver and girlfriend, as the primary suspect.
Investigators believe Ridley shot Good multiple times in the head inside the home they shared before placing his body in a suitcase.
Family Members Also Charged
Prosecutors say Ridley’s sister, daughter and daughter’s boyfriend helped cover up the crime. All three have been charged with offenses related to evidence tampering and obstruction.
Authorities allege Ridley used a Lyft ride to transport the suitcase before abandoning it several miles from the home.
Investigation Led to Arrests
Police said the Lyft driver became suspicious because of a strong odor coming from the luggage and later contacted authorities after seeing news reports about the case.
During a search of the residence, investigators found evidence that the home had been thoroughly cleaned. Prosecutors said the suspects admitted to cleaning the property and removing a mattress.
According to authorities, Ridley later admitted to shooting Good.
Motive Still Under Investigation
The medical examiner ruled Good’s death a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.
Prosecutors said they are continuing to investigate a possible financial motive, including payments Ridley received as Good’s caregiver.
Ridley is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on June 16.
