The Spartanburg Police Department is investigating an incident at a downtown parking garage where fire safety equipment was vandalized early Sunday morning.
Details of the Incident
Officers responded to a call at 150 Dunbar Street around 5:28 a.m., where the fire alarm was sounding. Two fire extinguishers were found near the entrance of the garage, and a third, partially used, was recovered from the third floor as evidence.
Suspect Vehicle and Behavior
A security officer reported seeing four males in a gray 2011 Toyota Camry driving erratically while vandalizing fire safety equipment on the top and third floors. The suspects reportedly threw fire extinguishers from the upper floors to the entrance area.
When confronted briefly, the driver sped away, striking the security officer’s side mirror and driving through the parking gate, causing additional damage. The security officer declined to press charges for the mirror collision.

Security footage identified two of the individuals involved:
- Suspect 1: Brown-skinned male, gray hoodie, black pants, black hair with blonde highlights
- Suspect 2: Male with black hair, black shirt, dark jeans, and flip-flops
