On Thursday around 5:30 p.m., deputies responded to a domestic disturbance involving a boyfriend and 44-year-old Mara Anderton, a Clover police officer. Anderton allegedly threatened her boyfriend with a gun during the altercation.
Arrest and Charges
Anderton was arrested and charged with domestic violence (high and aggravated), possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and resisting arrest. She was transported to the Chester County Detention Center.
Department Response
Anderton has been placed on administrative leave without pay pending an internal investigation. Clover Police Chief Randy Grice stated that the department holds officers to a high standard and does not tolerate incidents of this nature.
