Teen who began a sand brawl at the beach threatened to 'gut' his pal if she fought back: Police

A Florida teenager faces felony charges after allegedly pulling a knife on a friend at a beach on Memorial Day.

Incident Details

On Sunday, 18-year-old Misael Algel Aguilar Santurio reportedly started throwing sand at 18-year-old Yarielys Riobo at a Miami Beach. When Riobo threw sand back, Santurio allegedly pulled a rainbow-colored pocket knife and threatened her, saying he was “going to gut her.”

Intervention

Two male friends tackled Santurio to the ground and took the knife, while another teen held it to keep it away. A witness called 911, and police arrived shortly after.

Injuries and Arrest

The teens who restrained Santurio had minor injuries but did not press charges. Santurio resisted arrest and initially refused to speak to police without calling his mother.

Charges and Bond

Santurio was charged with aggravated assault. He posted bond and was released with a condition to stay at least 500 feet away from Riobo. His next court date has not been announced.
