A Kentucky man has been arrested after authorities accused him of secretly replacing his pregnant girlfriend’s medication with abortion pills in an attempt to end her pregnancy.

Man Accused of Swapping Medication

According to Kentucky State Police, 26-year-old Abdullah Mohmand of Bowling Green allegedly replaced his girlfriend’s prescribed medication with an unknown substance while she was pregnant.

The woman contacted authorities on Monday after discovering the medication had been switched and becoming concerned about the safety of her unborn child.

Police Found Abortion Medication

Investigators later obtained a search warrant for Mohmand’s residence.

During the search, police said they found misoprostol, a medication that can be used to induce labor or terminate a pregnancy.

According to authorities, the pills recovered from the home matched the unknown medication found at the victim’s residence.

Victim Reportedly Spoke About Family Pressure

Court documents state that Mohmand allegedly told the woman that his family in Afghanistan would not approve of him having a child with her.

The victim reportedly told police that Mohmand claimed his family would “kill him” if they had a baby together.

Arrest and Charges

Police said Mohmand denied knowing anything about the suspicious pills.

He was arrested and charged with attempted fetal homicide.

According to jail records, Mohmand is being held without bond at the Barren County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on June 25.
