The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF0 tornado touched down in northeast Georgia on Sunday night.
Tornado Hit Elbert County
Officials said the tornado was reported in Elbert County near Ruckersville after a damage survey was completed.
The survey showed that the tornado had estimated peak wind speeds of around 75 mph.
Tornado Lasted Only a Few Minutes
According to officials, the tornado stayed on the ground for a short time and moved between Hulmes Chapel Road and Ruckersville Road.
Several trees and large branches were knocked down during the storm.
No Injuries Reported
Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported after the tornado.
Weather teams continue to monitor conditions in the area following the storm activity.
