A Pennsylvania man has been indicted on federal charges for allegedly making threats to kill or injure multiple people across state lines.

Federal Indictment

John Radford, 31, was charged by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on May 21, 2026, with two counts of making interstate threats, according to a Department of Justice press release.

Alleged Threats

Prosecutors allege that in December 2024, Radford emailed one victim, writing, “I say we blow your head off with a shotgun!” He reportedly specified a “Mosberg 940” and said it would be used “late at night when you’re walk back to your car.”

In September 2025, Radford allegedly emailed another victim, threatening that a “list” of “people…ahead of you” was “all there is keeping you alive,” and identifying the victim’s spouse and children. Authorities have not disclosed how Radford knew the victims or where they lived.

Potential Penalties

If convicted, Radford could face up to five years in federal prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both for each count. Sentencing will consider the severity of the threats and any prior criminal history.

Next Steps

The case is ongoing, and federal prosecutors will continue the investigation. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania has been contacted for comment.
