Suspect apprehended and charged in the April shooting that killed a North Charleston man

The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested a man wanted in connection with a deadly April shooting in North Charleston, South Carolina.

Victim and Incident

Tavin De’Juan Dowling, 32, is accused of fatally shooting 35-year-old Javon Isiah Brown on April 15 in the Dorchester Terrace community. Officers responded just before 11 p.m. to the 2200 block of Bailey Drive after multiple reports of gunfire. Brown was found in the front yard with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Charges and Booking

Dowling has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and possession of a machine gun. He was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.
