A North Carolina man is facing felony charges after authorities said an attempted metal theft caused serious injuries to another person.
AT&T Property Reportedly Damaged
According to arrest warrants, 42-year-old Allen J. Sabaro allegedly caused more than $10,000 in damage to property owned by AT&T between May 9 and May 10.
Authorities said the incident happened in Rockingham.
Victim Suffered Serious Injuries
Investigators said the alleged actions resulted in injuries to Corey Shane Dorsey, including:
- Traumatic brain injury
- Spine fractures
- Rib fractures
Further details about how the injuries occurred were not immediately released.
Charges and Bond Information
Sabaro was arrested May 14 and booked into the Richmond County Jail.
He faces felony charges including:
- Injury to property to obtain nonferrous metals greater than or equal to $10,000
- Injury to property to obtain nonferrous metals resulting in injury
Officials said he is being held on a $100,000 secured bond.
Court Date Scheduled
Sabaro made his first court appearance on May 14. His next court date is scheduled for May 28.
Court records note the defendant’s name has also previously appeared as “Allan J. Subero.”
Authorities said he does not appear to have prior criminal convictions in North Carolina.
