A Pennsylvania man accused of killing his girlfriend was himself killed inside a county jail while awaiting trial, authorities said.
Inmate Killed Inside Pennsylvania Jail
Authorities identified the inmate as 44-year-old Tyrone Good.
Police said he was attacked inside his cell at the Allegheny County Jail by several other inmates on Wednesday afternoon.
Good was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Man Had Been Charged With Girlfriend’s Murder
Good had been jailed after being charged with criminal homicide in the death of 44-year-old Michelle Sturdivant.
Investigators said Sturdivant was found dead inside a Pittsburgh home in December 2025.
Authorities described the scene as suspicious and said the victim had bruises, burn injuries, and signs of blunt force trauma.
Surveillance Video and Evidence Linked Suspect
According to investigators, surveillance footage allegedly showed Good dragging Sturdivant into a home shortly before she was found dead.
Police also said blood and other evidence were discovered at another apartment where the pair had reportedly been staying.
The medical examiner later ruled Sturdivant’s death a homicide.
Investigation Into Jail Death Ongoing
Good had been arrested in Georgia in April after investigators tracked him down following the homicide investigation.
He was being held without bond and was scheduled to appear in court next week before his death.
Authorities said everyone involved in the jail attack has been identified, and the investigation remains ongoing.
