Hanahan High School resumed operations following evacuation, authorities said

HANAHAN, S.C. — Normal operations have resumed at Hanahan High School following a reported security threat on Tuesday afternoon.

A Berkeley County School District spokesperson confirmed that students were evacuated outside the school as a precautionary measure. Law enforcement, along with K-9 units, conducted a sweep of the school, after which they advised that the building was safe to return to.

Once the all-clear was given, students were provided with the opportunity to eat lunch, and operations at the school resumed as usual. No further details about the nature of the security threat have been provided.
