SLED: Allendale County woman accused with lottery fraud and breach of trust.

Mary Elizabeth Devoe, 61, of Allendale County, South Carolina, has been charged with fraud in connection to an investigation launched by the South Carolina Education Lottery.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Devoe with Breach of Trust and Intent to Defraud, Counterfeit Game Tickets on April 8, 2026. She was later charged with additional counts of Intent to Defraud and Counterfeit Game Tickets on April 30, 2026.

Alleged Fraudulent Activity

According to warrants, Devoe is accused of using stolen lottery tickets to redeem cash prizes in both Allendale and Richland Counties in December 2025. The investigation revealed that she allegedly attempted to defraud the lottery system by using counterfeit tickets to claim winnings.

Arrest and Detention

Devoe was arrested and initially booked into the Allendale County Detention Center before being transferred to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details about the case have not been released.
