Cherokee County, SC – A North Carolina man was killed in a motorcycle crash on S.C. Highway 11 in Gaffney, according to officials from the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office.
Details of the Crash
The crash occurred when the motorcyclist, 48-year-old William Michael Martin Jr., was traveling east on S.C. Highway 11. Authorities reported that Martin was attempting to pass an SUV that was turning left onto Bronner Road. As he tried to pass, he struck the driver’s door of the SUV, causing him to be ejected from his motorcycle. Martin was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the collision.
