A man was flown after being shot in Kershaw; an investigation is underway

A 28‑year‑old man was critically injured when he was shot outside a home on East Stevens Drive in Kershaw, South Carolina, and was airlifted to a hospital Friday afternoon, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

What happened

Deputies arrived around 3:30 p.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound to his leg; he was flown to a medical facility for treatment, and his condition was not immediately released. The initial report indicated multiple gunshots were fired, and early information suggests the shooting was not random.

Investigation status

No arrests have been made and no suspect has yet been identified, but Sheriff Barry Faile said investigators have received “promising” early information and are still in the early stages of the case. Detectives are interviewing witnesses at the scene and the victim at the hospital, and the public is encouraged to call the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at 803‑283‑3388 (Option 4) or submit anonymous tips online.
