One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 77 in York County, South Carolina, on Friday morning when a disabled Jeep Wrangler, towing a utility trailer, broke down in the travel lanes and its driver was struck by a passing 2018 Jeep Renegade.
What happened
The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. on I‑77 northbound, near mile marker 82 just north of Rock Hill. The 2014 Jeep Wrangler was pulling a utility trailer when it became disabled in the middle of the roadway; the driver exited the vehicle and was hit by the northbound Jeep Renegade, which killed the Wrangler’s driver at the scene.
