Emergency crews responded to a small plane crash into water near Raven’s Run in northern Charleston County on Tuesday night. All on board safely exited the aircraft with no injuries reported.
Crash Details
The incident involved a Cirrus SR22 that experienced a loss of directional control during takeoff from a private airstrip, leading to a water landing in a pond.
The pilot reported a mechanical malfunction despite efforts to maintain control.
Response Teams
Awendaw-McClellanville Fire Department led the response, joined by Mount Pleasant Police and Charleston County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
EMS checked occupants on scene before other units were released, with Mount Pleasant PD and DNR taking over the investigation.
