Charleston County accepts applications for housing and community development grants

Charleston County Community Development and Revitalization has opened applications for federal funding aimed at improving housing and community services for low- and moderate-income residents. This initiative is expected to support several development projects across the county in the coming year.

Funding Programs Available

The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and is distributed through three key programs:

  • Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
  • HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), including CHDO support
  • Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG)

These programs are designed to improve housing, support community services, and promote neighbourhood development.

Who Can Apply

Eligible nonprofit organisations can apply for funding to run housing and community improvement projects. In addition, for-profit developers are allowed to apply specifically for HOME program funds.
