Shaquille Kjuan Gregory, a 36-year-old from Charleston, faces three forgery charges tied to vehicle purchases using a fake identity at a North Charleston auto dealership.
Incident Details
On March 4, 2026, investigators learned from another agency that Gregory—already in custody at Al Cannon Detention Center for unrelated felonies—was linked to local fraud. He allegedly posed as “James Edding,” using a stolen driver’s license number and forged signature to buy a 2022 Kia Optima ($2,500 down, rest financed fraudulently) and a 2016 Mercedes ($2,000 down, similarly financed).
Ongoing Probe
North Charleston Police served the warrants while he was detained; more cases may emerge as they dig deeper into cross-jurisdictional tips. This fits the recent Lowcountry crime wave you’ve highlighted—Hollinshead bribery, the chase with four women, water main woes, and now identity theft in car sales. Shady deals stacking up fast.
