On March 7, 2026, 14-year-old Havoc Leone shot his mother, Theresa McIntosh, 41, in the back of the head with her own Taurus 9mm pistol at their Cheyenne, Wyoming home. McIntosh was airlifted to a Colorado hospital but died the next day. Laramie County Sheriff’s Office charged Leone as an adult with first-degree murder; he’s held on $500,000 bond, next court date March 18.
Incident Details
A week prior, Leone stole the gun from McIntosh’s vehicle during a fight over his D in math, hiding it in his boot. On the day of the shooting, arguments escalated over a stolen tablet from one of her cleaning clients—McIntosh called him a “thief” and mentally handicapped. Leone grabbed the gun with a notebook, threw the notebook at her while she did a floor puzzle, then shot her from behind as she bent down.
Confession and Aftermath
Leone first claimed suicide, then admitted anger, hating her for not understanding him, and fantasizing about murder when forced to do chores. His father, in the basement with headphones, heard a pop, found the scene with brains exposed and gun nearby, initially hoping it was self-inflicted. This heartbreaking familicide underscores risks of unsecured firearms and family tensions.
