Two Lowcountry men are facing a combined 13 charges connected to separate sexual exploitation of minors cases, according to a release from Alan Wilson.
Mark Edward Lamothe, 62, of Charleston, was arrested Feb. 19, 2026, and charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the third degree.
Caleb Anthony Swibaker, 21, of Summerville, was also arrested Feb. 19, 2026, and charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the third degree.
CyberTipline Report Led to Investigation
Authorities say investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, which led to the separate investigations into Lamothe and Swibaker.
According to the release, investigators determined both men possessed files containing child sexual abuse material. They were taken into custody in connection with their respective cases.
Multiple Agencies Assisted in Arrests
The arrests were carried out with assistance from the Summerville Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and members of the South Carolina ICAC Task Force.
Both cases will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
