Keith Roberts Jr., 29, allegedly shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, Myshaela Burnham, 29, at her workplace in a Bradenton, Florida, medical and office complex on Thursday afternoon, January 15, 2026, also wounding a coworker.​

Incident Overview

Roberts entered an unlocked suite in the 5200 block of 4th Avenue Circle East around 12:48 p.m., armed with a shotgun and handgun, and went directly to Burnham’s desk for a point-blank attack. The shotgun blast struck Burnham fatally and hit the nearby coworker due to proximity; he then fired a handgun at her multiple times. Police Chief Jason Cramer described the act as “cruel” and “evil,” noting Roberts knew exactly where Burnham sat.​

Arrest and Charges

Witnesses reported Roberts fleeing in a vehicle toward the DeSoto Bridge, leading to his quick arrest in Palmetto within 25 minutes. He agreed to an interview with Manatee Homicide detectives and faces first-degree murder with a firearm and attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, held without bond at Manatee County Jail. The injured coworker underwent surgery and stabilized, while Burnham, a mother, died at the scene.​
