Halle Harvey, 26, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the January 17, 2025, shooting death of her 30-year-old housemate Shyanne Mitchell in Riverside, Ohio, a Dayton suburb. Harvey and Mitchell argued in the basement of their shared home on the 4700 block of Opperman Avenue. Harvey went upstairs, retrieved her 9mm handgun, returned, and after a physical fight, shot Mitchell in the head. Police arrived around 3 p.m., finding Harvey outside with hands raised, scratches on her face and chest, expressing shock and asking if she could use her vape or face life imprisonment.​
