Display your festive spirit! Tell News 2 about your Christmas decorations and lights

The City of Charleston is inviting residents to submit photos and videos of their elaborate Christmas light displays for a potential feature in the “Holiday Lights Spectacular,” celebrating community creativity across the Lowcountry.

How to Participate

Share images of yard inflatables, synchronized lights, or indoor setups via local media channels like ABC News 4 or social media with hashtags such as #CharlestonHolidayLights or #LowcountryLights. Displays mimicking Clark Griswold’s iconic setup from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation are especially highlighted to showcase festive pride. Submissions help promote neighborhood events amid the 2025 holiday season running through December 31.

Top Local Displays

  • Holiday Festival of Lights at James Island County Park features over 2 million lights in a 3-mile drive-through, open nightly November 14–December 31, with tickets $15–$45 per vehicle.
  • Free options include Marion Square’s tree lighting and lights through December, plus Wonderland of Temuco Lane in Summerville for synchronized musical displays.
  • Additional events like Light the Lake on November 30 and Holiday Parade of Boats on December 13 add to the region’s glowing attractions.
