Police locate fingerprints, but the murder suspect remains at large

Within 72 hours of the Wadesboro murder, the Union County Crime Lab identified Davon Javar Ramsey, 23, as a suspect.

On October 14th, the Wadesboro Police Department rushed to a residence where a man had been fatally injured. The investigation, which was performed in collaboration with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, included the analysis of fingerprints discovered inside a car at the scene.

Ramsey’s fingerprints were already in the AFIS system, resulting in a speedy response compared to the longer processing times generally observed at the State Crime Lab, officials said.

According to authorities, several arrests have been made in connection with the murder, but Ramsey is still at large and actively eluding law enforcement.

The Wadesboro Police Department invites anyone with information on Ramsey’s whereabouts to call them at (704)-694-2167 or Union County Crime Stoppers at (704) 283-5600.
