COLUMBIA, S.C. — Authorities are investigating whether a person who arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound was involved in an incident at a home in Columbia that is reportedly used as an Airbnb.
The Columbia Police Department said police were summoned to the 1100 block of Darlington Street, which maps show is in the Earlewood subdivision, just before midnight following a report of gunfire. Police claimed they spotted property damage and collected evidence at the scene.
At some point overnight, authorities said a male victim came to an area hospital with a gunshot wound. Police said the victim’s injury doesn’t appear to be life-threatening, and they’re attempting to determine if his shot and the event on Darlington Street are connected.
Police said they are also trying to figure out how many people were in the house and their ages.
