Voters will go to the polls Tuesday for municipal elections

Charleston, South Carolina – Tuesday is election day, and residents around the Lowcountry will go to their polling places to vote for the candidate they want to represent them in a variety of municipal offices, from mayor to town and city council.

These races elect people to office who make decisions that affect you on a daily basis, such as traffic, development, infrastructure, and even taxation.

Not only is turnout vital, but arriving at your voting place prepared and knowing who you want to vote for is essential.

You can check your voter registration information and precinct location at scvotes.gov, as well as download a copy of your sample ballot to see who will be on the screen when it’s time to vote.

Local elections have an impact on our daily lives. These municipal elections will be something you deal with on a daily basis,” said Isaac Cramer, Executive Director of the Charleston County Board of Elections and Voter Registration.

Going to the polls? Bring a valid photo identification with you. Polling sites will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
