Following an Upstate stabbing, one person was hurt and another was taken into custody

A weekend stabbing in the Upstate injured one person and placed a suspect in arrest. The Spartanburg Police Department responded to an apartment on Hanover Place approximately 8PM, Saturday.

While authorities attempted to enter the residence, the suspect, 29-year-old Janae Thomas, walked out. Investigators believe Thomas attacked the victim with a kitchen knife, which was later discovered in the suspect’s vehicle.

The victim told investigators that she and Thomas had a dispute and went outside to leave. The woman was stabbed while phoning police after an argument.

The victim was sent to Spartanburg Regional. Thomas was charged with aggravated assault.
