Route and Service Updates (CATS/Buses)
Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) Route Adjustments: Starting October 6, CATS has implemented minor schedule changes impacting Fort Mill commuter routes, aiming to improve reliability and on-time arrivals. Passengers should check updated timetables through the CATS website or app for specific adjustments.​
Rock Hill–Fort Mill Area Transportation Study (RFATS) Initiatives: In partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All program, RFATS is launching a new Comprehensive Safety Action Plan this month. The plan will shape future route modifications for My Ride Rock Hill and shared corridor safety enhancements, with input from Fort Mill community residents.​
Infrastructure and Accessibility Improvements
SC 160/I-77 Interchange Project: The South Carolina Department of Transportation is progressing with design and planning updates for the Exit 85 (SC 160/I-77) interchange, critical for bus and car traffic. Temporary detours and minor schedule changes are anticipated in coming weeks as improvements roll out.​
Enhancements for School Traffic and Pedestrian Safety: Fort Mill School District and local law enforcement have introduced dedicated officer-managed school traffic zones and updated crossing guard schedules.
