Starting next week, Carolina Forest public transportation service changes will take effect aimed at improving operational efficiency and route effectiveness under Coast RTA.
Key Changes:
Route 17 will no longer serve Carolina Forest/International Drive. Riders heading to Carolina Forest must now use Route 15 North (15N), which has been adjusted to cover Carolina Forest/International Drive. This route now serves Grand Strand Hospital and travels along US 17 Bypass and International Drive. The inbound service returns via 79th Avenue to Kings Hwy.
Route 15 South will operate in two segments:
Route 15S terminates at Market Common serving the new VA facility, running every 60 minutes.
An extension of Route 15 South serves between Market Common’s VA facility and Tidelands Waccamaw Hospital in Murrells Inlet on a 90-minute schedule with timed transfers at the VA facility.
Route 16Â will have reduced service to and from Sandy Island, with certain stop times eliminated inbound and outbound.
Passengers are encouraged to check updated schedules online at RideCoastRTA.com or contact Coast RTA at 843-488-0865. Real-time tracking is recommended via the Coast RTA Ride Tracker app.
These adjustments are designed to enhance on-time performance and operational efficiency of public transit serving Carolina Forest and surrounding areas.
This provides a comprehensive summary of public transportation changes effective in Carolina Forest next week.
