Officials reported a vehicle smashed into a residence near Wildgame and Sheep Island Road

Berkeley County, South Carolina — Early Friday morning, emergency services rushed to a vehicle that smashed into a Berkeley County residence.

According to Janene Schmidt, deputy chief of administration for the South Berkeley Fire District, firefighters were alerted to a report on Wildgame and Sheep Island Roads at 3:41 a.m. for a car that had slammed into a property.

“There was heavy damage to the vehicle and some damage to the home,” Schmidt told me. “The residence was empty at the time, so no injuries to residents.”

Officials did not reveal what caused the crash or provide details about the driver.

First responders were on the site for around two hours.

According to Schmidt, Summerville Ladder 301 helped South Berkeley Engine 202 and Berkeley County EMS on the incident.
