Charles Sidney Jones III, 45, entered a plea of guilty Thursday in Chester County criminal court, according to 6th Circuit Solicitor Randy Newman. She was six months pregnant when she died in the 2023 crash. Jones had previous DUI offenses. Jones' blood alcohol level at the time of the crash was.277, more than three times the legal limit, according to Newman. The legal limit in South Carolina is 0.08. Jones pleaded guilty to DUI causing death, causing the death of a child in utero while committing a violent felony, and DUI causing grave bodily injury, according to Newman. Judge Robert Hood condemned Jones.
