North Charleston, South Carolina – This year’s Riverfront Revival Festival officially opened its gates at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Following a delayed start and various weather-related site adjustments.
“I don’t think the diehard fans care,” said Sandy Ellis, a fourth-year attendee.
Riverfront Revival, organized by Lowcountry native and Grammy Award-winning musician Darius Rucker, is in its fourth year and will take place on October 10th and 11th.
“I’ve been here for the past four years. I’ve attended both shows every year. Every act is outstanding and talented. You can tell there are people out there, but he does not. It’s not completely random. “He picks people out, and everyone’s fine,” Ellis added.
The event is entirely outdoors at North Charleston’s Riverfront Park, thus weather is a big factor. Today’s rain and flooding caused a few alterations.
Matt and Tommy John Reeves, first-time attendees, noted that the weather nearly prevented them from attending.
“We’ve been thrilled. We’ve been quite excited. We almost did not come due to the weather. When I leave, we’ll swim out to the west. We’re good. Please come on. “We’ll have a good time,” Reeves added.
Gates opened at 4 p.m., an hour later than anticipated. The Magnolia stage has closed, therefore tonight’s concerts will be split between the new Dogwood and Live Oak stages. The Live Oak stage’s calendar will now include headline concerts by Riley Green, the Red Clay Strays, Lukas Nelson, and more.
Chris and Tracy Saffles, first-time attendees, explained that despite the rain, they packed rubber boots.
“Even though it’s pouring, we decided to purchase some rubber boots and whatnot. Come here and have a nice time. Consume some nice food. There are several good music songs available here. We’re all come to visit the Riley Green blossoming tunnels.”
Plus, Darius Rucker will take the stage on Saturday. Regardless of the forecast, fans expressed their excitement to be here and ready to enjoy the festival. The festival organizers say the performance will go on rain or shine, so plan appropriately and keep your phones accessible for real-time information. Text “JOIN” to 843-648-3920.
