Alexander Lewis found himself in a bad predicament after being detained for allegedly spraying fart spray on many occasions at the South Carolina high school where he worked as a teaching assistant, police say.

According to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, some students needed medical assistance for respiratory concerns after Lewis allegedly used a “internet-acquired spray designed to imitate fecal odor.”

Some of the impacted students at West Florence High School reported nausea, dizziness, and headaches after inhaling the powerful gas-like odor.

“I became physically ill the other day due to the stench. “I feel like I’m going to pass out because I get so lightheaded and dizzy,” one youngster told ABC 15 News.

According to ABC 7 Chicago, one unhappy parent complains, “My [son’s] asthma has been triggered multiple times because of this, and I had to take him to the doctor three times.”

According to the sheriff’s office, the prank resulted in significant costs for the school, including over $55,000 in inspection fees and air conditioning system repairs.

Lewis, 32, is accused with disturbing schools and willful injury to property worth $10,000 or more.

He is being held at the Florence County Detention Center on combined bonds of more than $9,000.

Authorities said the investigation is still underway, and additional charges may be filed.
