If you were one of the many people who missed out on the billion-dollar prize last month, you might want to check your tickets again.
Two lottery tickets sold in the Upstate last month won $50,000, but no one has claimed their winnings, according to state lottery officials.
According to the South Carolina Education Lottery, four tickets sold in South Carolina that missed the billion-dollar prize by a single number have yet to be claimed.
Despite this, two of the tickets won a $50,000 reward. On September 6, tickets were offered at the Hot Spot at 308 E. Poinsett St. in Greer, and on September 3, at the Circle K at 820 S. Church Street in Greenville.
Another $50,000 ticket was sold in Goose Creek on September 3, followed by a $100,000 ticket in Columbia on September 6.
All four tickets matched four white ball numbers and one red Powerball number. Holders of those tickets have 180 days from the date of the drawing to redeem their winnings.
