A heartbreaking incident in Markle, Indiana has left a family grieving after their 7-day-old son, Jason Weaver, was killed by the family dog, police confirmed on Thursday, September 4.

According to a press release from the Markle Police Department, officers and emergency crews responded to a call reporting that a newborn had been bitten by a dog inside the family’s home.

Baby Pronounced Dead After Emergency Response

When first responders and EMS personnel arrived, they found the infant in critical condition, suffering from severe injuries. Life-saving efforts were immediately initiated, and the baby was rushed to a nearby hospital. Sadly, he was later pronounced dead.
