North Charleston, S.C. – Traffic on I-526 experienced significant delays Monday afternoon due to a pair of crashes that affected both the eastbound and westbound lanes.
Crashes on I-526 East and West
The South Carolina Department of Transportation reported that two right lanes were closed on the eastbound side of the Don Holt Bridge after a crash near Exit 20 at Virginia Avenue. Meanwhile, a second crash occurred in the westbound lanes of I-526, which led to the closure of the right lane in that direction as well.
Traffic Disruptions
These incidents caused traffic to back up, resulting in slower-than-usual conditions for drivers traveling through the area. The closures remained in place as authorities worked to clear the scene and manage traffic.
