Officials in South Carolina reopened Guerins Bridge Road on Sunday morning after a tree collapsed onto a power pole in the Awendaw area.
According to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, the road near Halfway Creek Road was closed around 9 a.m. while repair crews responded to the scene.
Utility Crews Repaired Damaged Power Pole
Authorities said Berkeley Electric Cooperative worked to repair the damaged power pole after the tree fell.
The closure affected traffic along Guerins Bridge Road in Awendaw for about two hours.
Road Reopened Sunday Morning
The Sheriff’s Office later confirmed that the road reopened around 11 a.m. after repairs were completed and the area was cleared.
No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
