CHARLESTON, S.C. — Star Gospel Mission will host its third annual “A Walk in Their Shoes” event on Sunday to raise awareness and funds for programs supporting people experiencing homelessness.

The fundraiser provides participants with a chance to walk alongside those facing homelessness while learning about challenges related to addiction and housing instability.

Walking Experiences for Participants

Attendees can register for one of three walking experiences:

Sunrise Experience (1.5 miles)

  • Check-in: 6:00 a.m.
  • Walk starts: 6:30 a.m.
  • Family-friendly, includes prayer stops, and ends with a chapel service and continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m.

Holy City Experience (5 miles)

  • Check-in: 5:00 a.m.
  • Walk starts: 5:30 a.m.
  • Full peninsula walk with prayer stops, concluding with chapel and continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m.

Sleepless Nights (15 miles overnight)

  • Check-in: 10:30 p.m. Saturday
  • Walk starts: 11:00 p.m.
  • Adults only, includes prayer stops, reflection time, and ends with chapel and continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m.

The event will take place at 474 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29403.
