NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — Damar Raheem Bailey, 34, was arrested following a police investigation into suspicious activity at a Rodeway Inn motel room on Ashley Phosphate Road. He faces multiple gun and drug-related charges.
Arrest and Charges
Bailey was charged with:
- Trafficking methamphetamine
- Possession with intent to distribute cocaine and cocaine base
- Possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
- Possession of fentanyl
- Manufacturing cocaine base
- Four counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime
- Four counts of felony possession of a firearm
Investigation and Evidence
Police executed a search warrant at approximately 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, Bailey was standing outside the room and attempted to back inside, but officers quickly detained him. Investigators recovered approximately $1,700 in cash, four firearms, and multiple narcotics from the motel room.
A records check revealed Bailey is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Custody
Bailey was taken into custody and transported to the Al Cannon Detention Center, where he remains held pending further legal proceedings.
