An Indiana woman has been sentenced to jail after admitting she boarded a school bus and threatened children she believed were bullying her stepson.
Woman Pleads Guilty
Raven Barner, 26, pleaded guilty to two counts of battery involving children under the age of 14, along with a misdemeanor charge of resisting law enforcement.
The charges stem from an incident on Oct. 31, 2025, at a school bus stop near an apartment complex in Greenwood, Indiana.
Confrontation on School Bus
According to investigators, Barner and her partner, Donquarious Ridley, boarded a school bus without permission after their son got on.
Police said video from inside the bus showed Barner yelling at children and threatening one student she believed had been bullying her stepson.
Authorities said she struck one child during the confrontation and accidentally hit another child as the bus driver attempted to intervene.
Sentence Handed Down
On May 21, Barner was sentenced to one year in jail followed by one year of active probation.
The court also ordered her to undergo a mental health evaluation.
Case Against Partner Continues
Ridley is facing separate charges, including battery involving children and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
His case remains pending, with his next court appearance scheduled for July 27.
