A Florida woman has been arrested after allegedly trying to hit another vehicle and striking a passenger during a road rage incident at a Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers restaurant in Homestead.
Argument Begins in Drive-Thru
According to police, the incident happened around 1:45 p.m. on Sunday at a Raising Cane’s location on NE 8th Street.
Authorities said 32-year-old Amber Nicole Collier was driving the wrong way through the drive-thru and nearly collided with another vehicle. After the near-miss, the driver of the other car reportedly told Collier to “drive more carefully.”
Woman Allegedly Tries to Hit Victims
Police say Collier then made a U-turn and drove toward the victim’s vehicle while allegedly shouting threats.
Investigators said she attempted to hit the victim’s car but instead struck a curb. When a passenger got out of the vehicle, Collier allegedly drove toward the victims again and hit the passenger in the arm.
The passenger suffered bruising but no serious injuries, according to police.
Arrested After Leaving Scene
While leaving the parking lot, Collier allegedly struck a Dodge Ram truck and continued driving away.
Police later stopped her about 10 miles from the restaurant and placed her under arrest.
Collier has been charged with aggravated battery and leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage. She was booked into the Miami-Dade County Jail and was being held on a $7,500 bond.
