Chattanooga police recover fentanyl, guns, and cash in a months-long narcotics investigation that led to arrest

The Chattanooga Police Department Narcotics Unit has completed a months-long investigation that led to a major drug seizure and the arrest of a 29-year-old suspect in Tennessee.

Investigation Conducted With Multiple Agencies

According to officials, the investigation was carried out with assistance from several Chattanooga Police Department units along with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Authorities said the operation included the execution of three separate search warrants as part of the investigation.

Large Quantity of Fentanyl Recovered

Police reported seizing around 1.6 pounds of fentanyl during the operation. Officials also recovered five firearms, including a Pioneer Arms AK-47-style rifle.

In addition to the drugs and weapons, investigators also seized marijuana, jewelry, cash, drug paraphernalia, and a 2015 BMW sedan.

Suspect Arrested and Taken to Jail

Authorities said the suspect had several outstanding warrants at the time of the arrest. Police also stated the individual was legally prohibited from possessing firearms because of previous felony convictions.

The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Hamilton County Jail.

Police Continue Efforts Against Drug Trafficking

Officials described the case as part of ongoing efforts to fight drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession in the Chattanooga area.

The investigation remains part of wider enforcement operations targeting dangerous narcotics such as fentanyl.
