A 5-year-old Utah boy had serious face injuries after being assaulted by a neighbor’s dog.
According to KSL, Leo Fuller was bitten by a dog in Hurricane, Utah, after attempting to cuddle it.
Brooke Chugg, Leo’s mother, told the publication that her youngster enjoys playing outside with pals from the neighborhood.
“One of my neighbors is knocking, pounding,” she told the publication. “I walk outside, and he’s got a shirt held up against my son’s face.”
According to the publication, the injuries to Leo’s face necessitated hours of surgery, and the organizer of a GoFundMe campaign to help his family stated that he will need several more surgeries.
KJZZ reported that the dog who attacked Leo bit and shook him.
According to KSL, the dog’s immunization status is unclear, and it is currently in quarantine.
“I would like to see the dog fully removed from the property,” Chugg told the newspaper.
Dylan Wall, a neighbor, was nearby during the incident and hurried to help when he heard the youngster scream, according to KJZZ.
“I had no idea what happened, but he was losing a lot of blood,” he told the site.
According to Wall’s GoFundMe page, Leo is expected to recover slowly and is now wearing a tube to remove saliva.
“Leo is the kind of kid who lights up every room he walks into — full of energy, laughter, and kindness,” said the coordinator. “Seeing him go through something so painful at such a young age is truly heartbreaking.” His family is doing everything they can to support him, but the emotional and financial burden ahead is daunting.
