Mom beats 3-year-old to death during 'wow pow' before putting her in Saran wrap and heading out for Chinese food: Testimony

A Maryland woman accused of killing her 3-year-old daughter allegedly admitted to beating the child before her death, according to testimony presented during her murder trial.

Alleged Confession Played in Court

Prosecutors played a video interview in which 32-year-old Darrian Randle allegedly told investigators she “lost control” while punishing her daughter, Nola Dinkins, on June 9, 2025.

According to testimony, Randle said she struck the child multiple times with a belt, causing her to become unconscious.

Child Found Dead in Suitcase

Nola’s body was found inside a suitcase in North East, Maryland, on June 11, 2025, one day after Randle reported her daughter missing and claimed she had been kidnapped.

Investigators later determined that the kidnapping story was false.

Boyfriend Also Charged

Authorities allege that after the child’s death, Randle and her boyfriend, Cedrick Britten, wrapped Nola’s body, placed it in a suitcase, and disposed of it.

Britten is charged as an accessory to murder and related offenses.

Multiple Charges Filed

Randle faces charges including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, child abuse resulting in death, and several other felony counts. The trial is ongoing.
