I felt this could be it: Swimmer on cliff diving expedition is forcefully held underwater by stranger while her nephew watches her 'nearly' die, police claim.

A woman in Arizona says she nearly drowned after another woman allegedly pulled her underwater during an argument at a popular cliff-diving spot on the Salt River.

Argument Near Climbing Rope Turns Violent

The incident happened on May 24 at the Mud Cliffs area in Arizona’s Tonto National Forest. According to police, a disagreement broke out near a climbing rope used by visitors to access the cliffs.

Robyn Soden told authorities that Beyonce Burruel grabbed her hair and held her underwater, preventing her from breathing.

Scuba Diver Intervenes

Soden said she was pushed underwater multiple times and feared for her life. The incident ended when a scuba diver stepped in and pulled her away from Burruel.

Police reported that Soden suffered visible injuries, including marks on her neck and a torn swimsuit.

Suspect Faces Charges

Burruel has been charged with aggravated assault and impeding breathing.

According to investigators, Burruel claimed the confrontation started after Soden allegedly insulted her and her sister. Police also said Burruel resisted deputies during her arrest, and four officers were needed to place her in handcuffs.

The case remains under investigation.
