A home fire in North Charleston left one person dead

One person was found dead after a house fire in North Charleston on Monday morning, according to fire officials.

Fire Reported on Tulip Street

Firefighters responded to a home on Tulip Street around 10:12 a.m. after receiving reports of a residential fire with a possible person trapped inside.

When crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the house and immediately began firefighting and search operations.

Victim Found Inside Home

During an initial search of the residence, firefighters discovered a deceased person inside the home.

The fire was quickly brought under control, and a second search confirmed that no other occupants were inside.

Investigation Ongoing

Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the North Charleston, Charleston, and Saint Andrews Fire Departments, along with Charleston County EMS and the North Charleston Police Department.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.
